Joshua Tree National Park

I visited Joshua Tree National Park a few weeks ago and loved it! If you live close by, you must visit soon before the heat arrives.

Two distinct desert ecosystems come together in this park, the Mojave and the Colorado.

The park is one of California’s most beautiful and less visited natural treasures, full of fascinating plants and animals, desert oases, and a striking rock-strewn landscape.

The slow-growing Joshua tree, which is found everywhere here, was named by the Mormon settlers who crossed the Mojave Desert in the mid 1800’s. The tree’s unusual shape reminded them of the Bible story in which Joshua reaches his hands up to the sky in prayer.

This is a place not to be missed when visiting California. You can also visit Palm Springs and stay in one of many beautiful hotels where you can play golf, relax at the pool, and hike amazing mountain trails.
