Istanbul, Turkey

I finally made it to Turkey, a country that has long been top of my list. ✅

Istanbul (formerly Byzantium and Constantinople) is a mesmerizing city that blends rich history, vibrant culture, and modern life. This cosmopolitan city straddles between both Europe and Asia, divided by the Bosphorus Strait.

Its Old City reflects cultural influences of the multiple empires that once ruled here. The mix of old and new immediately draws you in and the city’s iconic skyline, sets the stage for an unforgettable trip.

Istanbul is home to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including:

1. Sultan Ahmed Mosque (Blue Mosque)
2. Hagia Sophia
3. Topkapi Palace
4. Basilica Cistern
5. Hippodrome of Constantinople
6. Archeological Sites of Troy
7. Neolithic Site of Gobekli Tepe

Other musts include a cruise on the Bosphorus; shopping at the Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazaar; exploring the neighborhoods of Galata and Karakoy; and indulging in traditional dishes such as meze, simit, kebabs, baklava, Turkish coffee, tea and delights.

Another unique experience I can offer my clients is a Grand Bazaar rooftop walking tour (first pic). It’s fun and offers great views of the city!

A special thank you to @shangrilaistanbul, @thepeninsulaistanbulhotel and @hagiasofiamansionsistanbul for hosting us during our stay and to @fssultanahmet for a delicious lunch and site visit. Lastly, a shout out to @ambrosialuxurytravel for making this trip so special along with a great group of travel advisors!
