Edinburgh, Scotland
I recently returned from Edinburgh, Scotland’s magical capital!
This city’s unique character comes from the striking architectural contrast between its Medieval Old Town and its Georgian New Town. In all, Edinburgh has more listed buildings than any other city in the world; It’s no wonder that Edinburgh was inscribed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1995.
Looming over the city is the impressive Edinburgh Castle, home to Scotland’s crown jewels and the Stone of Destiny, used in the coronation of Scottish and English rulers, including Charles III.
Also worth doing is visiting the Palace of Holyroodhouse, Victoria Street, St. Gilles Cathedral, walking the entire Miracle Mile, Circus Lane, and taking a tour of @johnniewalkerprincesstreet, not to mention enjoying the many pubs and restaurants this city has to offer.
J.K. Rowling wrote some of Harry Potter’s novel in an Edinburgh café and took inspiration from the landscape for her characters and locations.
Finally, find the perfect hotel stay at the new boutique @virginhotelsedi by Richard Branson.
